WIP: The Movie Bloghop! Kate & Rhys!

Rachel Schieffelbein and Kyra Lennon are co-hosting the WIP: The Movie Bloghop! Check their links for more info and the other participants.

Almost all of us have imagined who would play the characters in our WIPs if they were ever made into a movie. On February 28th, we want you to “cast” your WIP, and post photos of the actors/actresses you would choose to play the characters in your latest manuscript. You don’t have to cast everyone if you don’t want to, just show us your MCs and tell us a little about them.

Also, we’d like you to tell us which songs you’d have on your WIP Movie soundtrack! This can be one song that fits the main theme of the story, or several songs that make you think of your story.

Welcome back to Maguire's Corner. Book two in the series stars Doctor Kate Maguire. She's the town gossip, quite snarky and a whole lot to handle.

Meet Rhys 'Mac' MacGrath. Former resident of Maguire's Corner he currently plays professional football in Oklahoma.

They haven't seen each other in years.

Sparks fly between them but will their feelings for each other bloom and grow or burn up and turn to ash?

Soundtrack:
Nickelback: Trying not to love you
Christina Perri: Arms
Skillet: Awake and Alive

More inspirational pics can be found on my Pinterest board.

One Good Catch: A Maguire's Corner Novel.

Coming soon.

Want to read an excerpt? Go HERE.

There you have it. My thanks to Rachel and Kyra for hosting such a fun hop!

Kate & Rhys excerpt from One Good Catch!

I'm in complete edit mode but I thought I would share a little tidbit to help us all survive these long winter days.

Kate Maguire and Rhys MacGrath are having a, well, let's call it, a conversation.
__
Excerpt from One Good Catch.

Rhys stepped back to pull the sling off his arm and tossed it on the floor. Moving back he caged her against the wall with his arms and body. Leaning in, his lips hovering just over hers, he stopped.

“What are we doing?” he asked, his voice hushed.
“I don’t know.”
“Tell me you want this.”
Kate shrugged in the dim light. “You think I’m complicated.”
“You are complicated. This whole thing is complicated. It doesn’t mean I don’t want it.”
Rhys lifted one hand from the wall and placed his palm on her chest, over her heart, which tripled in speed under the warmth and weight of it.
“Mac.”
“No,” he said, “You never call me that.”
“Rhys.”
“Better.”
Kate licked her lips, enjoying the way Rhys’s eyes followed the movement of her tongue. “Everyone calls you Mac.”
“You never do.”
“I didn’t know you noticed.”
“I’ve noticed lots of things.”
Rhys closed the gap between them, kissing the corner of her mouth.
“Like what?” Kate asked.
“You taste amazing.”
Rhys kissed her lips lightly, drawing the bottom one between his own before releasing it.
“Your eyes glitter in the sun,” he said.
His lips glided along her jaw.
“You’re vulnerable right here.”
Rhys found the same spot on her neck that had her catching her breath and biting down on her own lip.

I hope you enjoyed that.

I know I did. :)

See you later!

Light at the end of the tunnel & What's Stormy up to now?

I AM DONE!

I have made it to the other side.

I have worked my little brains off trying to get 'work' work done and I have finally finished and can actually move on and do something else!!!

YEAH!!!

Like EDIT!!!

YEAH!!!

Wait...what?

Wow. I think I'm getting a little warped. Maybe more than a little.

So, Stormy the Weather Gnome decided to write my 'About Me' post on the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge blog today.

There was no stopping him.

He didn't make me sound too crazy but you should probably be the judge of that.

I'm off to do important book stuff!

What are you doing today?

#atozchallenge - Blogging from A to Z April Challenge Updates!

Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!

What's up today?

Blogging from A to Z April Challenge updates!

1. Jeremy at Being Retro is one of the AtoZ hosts. Today, there is a special tribute up to him on the Challenge Blog (cause he fell on the ice and now he's broken). Go check him out and leave a comment for him!

2. If you are doing AtoZ, and you're going to have a theme, and if you want to be a part of the theme reveal, head over HERE to sign up for the A to Z Theme Reveal Blogfest!

3. Did you know that over 750 have signed up to do the A to Z Challenge this year already! I think it's amazing!

I won't lie and say the Challenge is easy, hence the word Challenge in the title, but it's certainly worth the time and effort. I've met so many great people. I've learned new things, seen new stuff and I honestly enjoy the journey.

If you're on the fence about it, I suggest you take the leap.

4. Believe it or not, Stormy does not have all the sidekicks that he needs for the Challenge.

His team is made up of 3 really excellent bloggers, that he will be introducing in the near future, but he could use one or two more.

If you're interested in helping out Stormy, leave a comment or email me (hgardner28@gmail.com) and I will pass your message on to him.

So, that's all my exciting AtoZ information for today.

Any questions?

So here's the question: If you lived in a society where arranged marriages were a la mode, whom would you beg your parents to set you up with? Why? (Literary characters and celebrities welcomed.)

Without question...
Captain Malcolm Reynolds.
Captain of the Firefly-class transport ship Serenity.
There's a lot of fine ways to die. I ain't waiting for the Alliance to choose mine.

Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave.

Half of writing history is hiding the truth.

Okay, um, I'm lost. Uh, I'm angry and I'm armed...

Listen, you don’t know me, son, so I’m gonna say this once: if I ever kill you, you’ll be awake, you’ll be facing me, and you’ll be armed.

That's about it for me today.

I did finish draft one edits for MC2 and I'm leaving it sit for a day or so while I get some other work done. YEAH ME!

Oh, and I was invited to my first book discussion group this past Saturday. A group of women, in the town where I live, all read Maguire's Corner and wanted to talk about it. With me!

What a surreal experience that was. Wonderful, but so strange.

They were a great bunch of ladies and had some really interesting questions ... and cake!

Now that I have one under my belt, I realize that it's not so bad. :)

I just hope I don't have to do it again ... for a little while.

#IWSG Snow Post and Ninja News and Rafflecopter!

WOW! It's that time again.

In 'The Creator's' own words:

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

Alex J. Cavanaugh's awesome co-hosts today are Sheena-kay Graham, Julie Musil, Jamie Ayres, and Mike Swift! Please be sure to thank them for their time and effort to make all IWSG members feel welcome.

I am editing book two in the Maguire's Corner series.

It's taking longer than I would like.

Maybe its because the other day I cleaned the kitchen instead of working on the book.

Most of you know how i feel about dishes.

(HATE THEM!)

I'll get through the edits. I just need to focus.

I have a lot of people waiting to read it this time which is SO amazing.

Only two people wanted to read the original MC.

Now, MC has ... fans. :)

Speaking of 'The Creator' here is some great news about Alex J. Cavanaugh's book!

CassaFire by Alex J. Cavanaugh – Amazon Best Seller!
Science fiction - space opera/adventure
EBook ISBN 978-0-9827139-6-9 $.99 special!

CassaStar was only the beginning…

The Vindicarn War is a distant memory and Byron’s days of piloting Cosbolt fighters are over. He has kept the promise he made to his fallen mentor and friend - to probe space on an exploration vessel. Shuttle work is dull, but it’s a free and solitary existence. The senior officer is content with his life aboard the Rennather.

The detection of alien ruins sends the exploration ship to the distant planet of Tgren. If their scientists can decipher the language, they can unlock the secrets of this device. Is it a key to the Tgren's civilization or a weapon of unimaginable power? Tensions mount as their new allies are suspicious of the Cassan's technology and strange mental abilities.

To complicate matters, the Tgrens are showing signs of mental powers themselves, the strongest of which belongs to a pilot named Athee, a woman whose skills rival Byron’s unique abilities. Forced to train her mind and further develop her flying aptitude, he finds his patience strained. Add a reluctant friendship with a young scientist, and he feels invaded on every level. All Byron wanted was his privacy…

“This sequel to Cavanaugh's first novel, CassaStar, delivers on the promise of its predecessor, combining military action sequences and political intrigue with strong, memorable characters. Reminiscent of the action-driven stories of Robert A. Heinlein's early fiction…” - Library Journal
