And a one, and a two and a three!

Oh where, oh where did my mojo go?
Oh where, oh where can it be?
It's getting annoying, it sure does blow,
Oh where, oh where did it flee?

Sorry. It's about the only creative thing I've come up with in days.

BUT...I want to write a 500 word story for this fun blog hop from Liz Fichera's Blog.
Anyone can join and it's a great way to find other blogs you might like and for them to find you.
The story needs to be about a 'first gift' that you received from someone special.
Check out the link for more information.
It's just for fun.
That's why I want to participate.
No pressure. No judgment. No worries.

That's probably why I'm having so much trouble with my story. I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself.
I know that people (my 'editors') want to read it.
I want it to be better than my last one (because that one went no where).
I want it to make sense.
I want to follow all of these rules and regulations that I have read about recently.

But, I'm not having any fun. I'm not constantly wondering what the characters are going to say to each other. I'm not excited to sit down and write and see where it takes me. I'm looking at it like ... work.

And that sucks.

Until I can figure out a happy medium I will just continue to wander around without direction.

Crossing my fingers that I will find my mojo soon.

  3. Good luck in finding it. I'm averaging about 1800 words a day for NaNo, which I guess is not too bad but I'd liked to get way ahead so I could have some rest days.
Just write and something will start to come out.

  4. It'll come when you least expect it Heather. My writer's block days are few now but used to be worse. maybe I'm learning something? Let's hope. Your poem made me laugh because I used to write them too. Here's one for you:

    LIGHT BULB EXPERIENCE

Have you ever suffered from bad writer’s block,
When words just don’t flow and you have to stop,
When characters you crafted in your latest work,
Just halt what they’re doing and then go berserk?

You’ve tried all the cures, those known writer’s tricks,
But try as you might, you can’t get it licked,
Computer screen yells “white space” to your eyes,
Still no brilliant words come to help you get by.

Then somewhere deep down inside of your brain,
The imagination light bulb blazes again,
That unwanted writer’s block simply is tossed,
And you can now weave the tale you thought lost.

Then after you’ve finished and mailed it all in,
They read it, then print it, and make it a hit,
Someone will ask you, “Hey, what is the key,”
“To your great success, can you tell me please?”

You’ll grin for the light bulb saved you again,
But tell him you planned it, it simply was meant,
To flow from your fingers in vivid detail,
“I never have trouble, my muse never fails.”

  5. Arlee - Thank you. When you are right you are right. I just need to open the damn file and start writing.
Good luck with NaNo. I have a lot of respect for those of you who are committed to finishing the challenge.

  6. Bobbye Terry - That is fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing it. I can't blame my muse, if I even have one, I have to blame my dumb brain. It's fluffy inside right now.
    Thanks for stopping in.
