Fridays are like...with Stormy the Weather Gnome.

We made it!

TGIF! Thanks Gnomes its Friday!

Thanks for hanging out with me this week. I'm betting the blog owner will have some fun and interesting stories to tell you next week. Well, I'm not betting anything I want to keep.

Fridays are like chocolate frosting.

Thursdays are like...with Stormy the Weather Gnome.

You can almost smell the weekend from here. Or maybe that's the moss growing between my toes! Someone please turn me!

Thursdays are like a watched pot.

Wrap up and special guest surprise!!!

Hello everyone.

Couple of things before I go on vacation.

1. I used the Jedi guilt trick...on myself. I felt so bad after I wrote to you guys and told you that I wasn't cool enough to write any posts for next week that I had to do something about it.

So...SURPRISE!!

I asked Stormy the Weather Gnome to fill in ALL next week!

Oh, and he said YES!!

2. Someone asked how the BOY was doing in football. He's doing great! He's a real team player which translates to 'he talks too much' but he seems to be well liked. He's having fun and I think we can all agree that's what its all about.

His fingers are a little off but its the intent that counts!

So, I'll see you in about a week. Have a good time. Don't forget to designate a driver. And always remember...

Just for laughs...

Will you miss me?
Looking forward to seeing what Stormy has to say for a whole week?

Remotely posting from the sidelines.

I am currently at football practice watching other people yell at my kid for a change. So awesome.
I have been very busy lately with everything but editing. Hoping when the rug rat goes back to school I'll have the time.
YEAH SCHOOL!
I have a secret that I've been keeping from the short spud since March. The incredible husband and I have been making blood sacrifices to the giant rodent in Florida.
This is code in case the six year old decides to read my blog.
We leave on Saturday. We're going to wake him at about three am and tell him to get his butt dressed.
It should be sufficiently evil and wonderful at the same time.
Its his first plane ride and first time going to see the hairy rat.
We have a great trip planned but not overly planned. We know its going to be hot and humid but I'm from NY so that's not new to us.
We are staying on property so that should make it pleasant too.
And we are doing as much cheesy pirate stuff as possible.
I'll be sure to share all the gory details when I get back.
I wasn't cool enough to pre-write blog posts so it will be quiet over here for a week.
Enjoy the silence cause when I get back I am tearing into my query letter and sending out this stupid book!
I could scream that I'm still in the same damn place that I've been for two years! Scream!
I'm really happy for all my friends who are publishing but its my turn.

I'll try to post once more before we leave.

How are you guys?
Anyone go see the fuzzy ferret before?

10,000 years will give you such a crick in the neck!

Ever wake up knowing that you have slept in the same position the entire night? Every joint in your body is sore and you feel like the only thing that might help is being stretched on a medieval torture rack.

Does anyone know where I might find one of those?

Thanks for telling me all about your lives the other day. I like to hear what others are doing. I like to live vicariously. Isn't that why we write in the first place? Our characters are always doing fun stuff that we don't get to do.

I've been over at the Unicorn Bell blog today catching up on the Schools In Query Contest. Lots of great information was put up this week. Queries that worked, interviews, research, links, they have it all with more to come so check it out if you are working on that vital part of getting published.

Have you been visiting DL Hammon's blog Cruising Altitude? Write Club 2012 is going on and there have been some great entries.

And lastly, but never leastly, did you sign up for Alex J. Cavanaugh's lastest blogfest? No? Why the heck not?
Come.
See.
Join.

That's all I've got for today. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

I get to see my six year old in his first football scrimmage game of his career on Saturday! Proud parent moment!

See any good movies this summer?

Oh, yeah! TMI!

Are you asking yourself, "What's TMI?"

Well, let me esplain. Take too long, let me sum up!

TMI means Too Much Information.

It's when I sit here and tell you way too much personal stuff and you say to yourselves, "Ewww. What's she thinking?"

Well, you can thank (blame) Nancy S. Thompson because she named me for not one, but two Blog Awards!

She's so evil kind!

For the Fabulous Blog Ribbon we are supposed to name 5 fabulous moments, 5 things you love, 5 things you hate and then pass it along to 5 fabulous bloggers.

Fab 5 moments:
1. It wasn't when I first met my husband. I thought he was ... well ... a pain in the butt when we met. It was much later when I realized I couldn't spend another day without him. And yes, he's still a pain in the butt. :)

2. The birth of my son was complicated and happened while I was highly medicated. I didn't get to hold him until hours later after surgery. (Did I mention I was so sick the doctors thought I had pneumonia, too?) So, my fabulous moments happened after we brought the little spud home. When you see your child in the little clothes you picked out, when he's finally in his own room that you painted and decorated, laying in the crib you inherited from a friend on the sheets that were a special shower gift. When he's clean, fed and dry and falling asleep all cozy in your arms, wrapped in a blanket knitted by a relative. When he smiles at you even though the 'experts' say its not a smile until they are older, but we know better. Those are the moments that make being a parent worth all the days that we want to choke the life out of them.

3. Writing 'The End' for the second time.

4. I host a lot of blood drives with the auxiliary for our local volunteer fire department. One drive was held in honor of an FDNY firefighter that survived September 11th but got sick from what he was exposed to. We held a bone marrow drive for him the same day. The number of donors were quadruple what we usually get for the blood drive and we had a huge response to the bone marrow drive as well. It was personally gratifying and proof that our extended community was pretty awesome.

5. I'm saving this one for the day I'm published or the day my six year old graduates from high school. Whichever comes first.

5 Things I Love:
1. Chocolate
2. My family
3. Music
4. Books
5. Coffee

5 Things I Hate:
Come on! Have you met me? You think I could whittle down the list to just 5 things I hate! How about 5 things I hate just about the Olympics! 5 things I hate about commercials! 5 things I hate about Facebook! This could take a while!

Yadda, yadda, yadda...you knew I wasn't passing it on.

This is the Be Inspired meme where you are supposed to answer the questions and pass it on to five people.

What is the name of your book?
Maguire's Corner
Where did the idea for your book come from?
From the inside of my very strange head.
In what genre would you classify your book?
Contemporary Romance w/ a hint of murder.
If you had to pick actors to play your characters in a movie rendition, who would you choose?
Honestly...I don't know who this guy is but I saw his picture and knew he was Police Chief Jack Munro. Of course, he should be wearing black tactical pants and a black button down shirt but, I think you get the point.

I have yet to find a woman who resembles Maggie. She’s petite with brunette curls and whiskey brown eyes.
Give us a one-sentence synopsis of your book.
Maggie Maguire didn’t start the day out intending to make herself the target of a killer, or put her family in danger, but that’s just what she’s accomplished and now Police Chief Jack Munro must help her but the only thing she wants him to do more than find out who’s trying to kill her is for him to leave town.
Is your book already published?
No.
How long did it take you to write your book?
Too long.
What other books within your genre would you compare it to? Or, readers of which books would enjoy yours?
This is something I have to work on, similar book titles and authors. Lots of authors write these types of stories but not sure I can compare to them without more research.
Which authors inspired you to write this book?
Not applicable.
Tell us anything that might pique our interest in your book.
Maguire’s Corner is loosely based on the area where I live. There's a car chase, murder, sex, more murder, more sex, kidnapping and lots of coffee. The Maguire’s are such a large family that in order to keep them straight I had to create a family tree for them. I intend to write another story based on Maggie’s brother, Lt. Bobby Maguire.

So...now that y'all are yawning....I'll wait....I'll thank you for taking the time to read my TMI!

If any of you want these awards, feel free to take them and share them yourself!

Thank you, Nancy!

IWSG - Spinning a short tale. : )

I almost missed the whole day!

Craziness!

It's the first Wednesday of the month which means....The Insecure Writer's Support Group is today!

Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh has given us this amazing outlet to share our fears or spread our wisdom.

Well, I think I've been spreading quite enough of my fears lately and the only wisdom I have to share is the same wisdom that you guys give to me!

I thought about posting some motivational posters but I don't want to get sued.

Then I thought I could post some inspirational quotes but that's all been done.

So, what does one do on IWSG day if they don't have any amazing ideas?

Well...they let Stormy the Weather Gnome go for a ride on a Lazy Susan!
