List the songs that move your spirit, cut deep into your soul, and threaten to break your heart. No limit - top ten or less is fine.
I was really trying to stay away from this one. I was! But, songs just kept popping into my head!
Here are a few, in no particular order.
Foolish Games – Jewel
Well in case you failed to notice
In case you failed to see
This is my heart bleeding before you
This is me down on my knees
In case you failed to see
This is my heart bleeding before you
This is me down on my knees
The Dance – Garth Brooks
And now, I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
The way it all would end
The way it all would go
I can’t make you love me – Bonnie Raitt
I'll close my eyes
Then I won't see
The love you don't feel
When you're holding me
Then I won't see
The love you don't feel
When you're holding me
Chasing cars – Snow Patrol
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Nothing compares 2 U – sung by Sinead O’Connor
Nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling
Tell me baby, where did I go wrong?
Tell me baby, where did I go wrong?
Hallelujah – sung by Rufus Wainwright
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Streets of Philadelphia – Bruce Springsteen
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip this skin
Just to slip this skin
My Immortal – Evanescence
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
I wish that you would just leave
Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
Where have you been? – Kathy Mattea
He held her hand and stroked her hair
And in a fragile voice she said
And in a fragile voice she said
Where have you been?
I've looked for you forever and a day
I've looked for you forever and a day
Where have you been?
I'm just not myself when you're away
I'm just not myself when you're away
Here are two of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces of music that I’ve ever heard.
Adagio for Strings
– Samuel Barber - Platoon Soundtrack
Raises the hair on my arms from the first note and brings tears to my eyes by the end.
Promentory – The Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack
This music plays during the most impressive kiss I’ve ever seen and
during the most heart wrenching, heart breaking scene at the end of the film.I just know I'm going to see a bunch of songs on your blogs and say, "Why didn't I think of that one?"
Thanks for stopping in.
See you on Sunday, April 1, for the Letter A!
