Wednesday updates and Stormy meets Echo!

What's with this once a week posting thing, Heather? Such a diva!

Sorry.

This month is pretty busy, but that's no excuse for ignoring my blog buds!

So, what's up?

I've been working on my newsletter. It shouldn't be this hard to come up with things to tell you, but it feels like I'm being incredibly narcissistic. Which, I guess, I am by writing a newsletter about myself.

My Aunt has been sending a Christmas newsletter forever, but she mostly talks about her family and pets. It's always very entertaining and informative.

So, I'm trying to put more of that kind of flair on the page.

We shall see.

Not much on the book front. Still editing/writing when I'm home to do it. I swear, I'm barely in the house lately.

Which isn't always a bad thing. I forget how much data I collect when I'm out. People watching and overhearing conversations makes great fodder for writing.

We haven't gone to see Jurassic World yet, but there was a display of plush dinos in the supermarket. The BOY, who loves dinos, talked me into purchasing one such animal.

This is how the conversation should have gone.

But, it didn't.

Here is Stormy the Weather Gnome meeting Echo the Dino!

So. I'll leave you for today with a note about a cool site called Book Candy Studios. We agreed to help each other with a little free advertising. They make some pretty impressive book trailers. They use Facebook to help promote authors as well.

  1. People watching is definitely good for writing; that's why I always carry my journal with me, in case I see or hear something interesting or weird. I haven't seen Jurassic World; I must admit that I haven't even seen Jurassic Park. I remember that I was just a kid when that movie came out.

  3. People watching is always good for writers/writing.

And for a while there, I was posting once a month, or twice a month. Once a week is what I'm working toward.

Doesn't seem like Stormy was all that impressed. But I'm sure Echo will grow on him.

    1. Yes! So true.

Echo is everywhere. Every time I turn around my son has him right next to my face. Scare the crap out of me.

  4. I guess Stormy isn't all that fond of Echo.

Hey, once a week is pretty good for blogging. But I'm a crazy person so I push for three. That's probably why I needed to take a break this week...

    1. I think he's a scaredy-gnome.

      I guess I took an un-announced break.

  5. Loved the gnome pictures . I have quite a few squirrel ornaments, even a soft toy squrriel called Nashville as that's where he was bought.
    Loved your post.

  7. Stormy didn't seem frightened of the plush reptile. I've heard of Book Candy Studio.

    1. I don't think he's scared. Annoyed that he has to share his spotlight is more like it.

  9. Isn't it amazing these critters ruled the kingdom for 135 million years. Dinosaurs are such an impressive species. Swoopers in particular have amazing eyesight.

  11. I see that Stormy the gnome feels much the same as I about dinosaurs.
