#IWSG & The Coriola Series Book Tour by Melinda De Ross!

Where does the time go?

Summer is half over. Practice for football season started for my son this past Monday. Folks around here are already talking about pumpkins and Halloween.

Hold the phone, people!

I'm not ready for any of that crap!

No one loves fall more than I do, but I'm not ready for sweatshirts and leaves changing colors.

Not quite yet.

I'm still hoping to get back to the beach one more time!

It's August 5th, the first Wednesday of the month, and time for another post from the Insecure Writer's Support Group!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Make sure you check out all that the IWSG website has to offer. It's SO much more than just one post a month.

Alex J. Cavanaugh's awesome co-hosts for August will be Nancy Gideon, Bob R Milne, Doreen McGettigan, Chrys Fey, Bish Denham, and Pat Garcia!

Nothing really to report. I've been away from blogging a bit because the BOY is home for summer vacation and bothers me with his incessant chatter.

His constant blather? May I get something to eat? May we go to the library? May I play outside?

You know, annoying stuff like that.

I mean, come on. It's not all about you, kid!

:)

Mirage Beyond Flames

Gerard Leon and Linda Coriola fight for the same cause. The attractive, noble, dedicated French doctor and the beautiful, sensitive Italian sculptress both donate their time and money to Hope – a clinic for children’s cancer research and treatment.

From the moment they meet, even the air between them crackles with intense attraction. But her past makes it difficult for Gerard to understand her scars and battle with her demons.

In search of a cure for cancer and armed with an innovative treatment themselves, they leave for Transylvania, that enigmatic land hidden in the heart of the Carpathians.

There they get lost and have a bizarre  experience in the Hoia-Baciu forest, nicknamed The Romanian Bermuda Triangle due to all the inexplicable paranormal phenomena happening in its depths.
But no one believes them, because they don’t have any proof of said experience.

Or do they?...

*Mirage Beyond Flames is the sister-story of Dante’s Amulet.

Dante’s Amulet

Italian businessman Giovanni Coriola and English target-shooting trainer Sonia Galsworthy have only two things in common—a sizzling chemistry and no desire for commitment. When they meet in London, the world starts spinning faster and they quickly become addicted to each other. The incendiary passion between them skyrockets into smoldering, once-in-a-lifetime love.

Just as they thought they had things settled, a strange discovery triggers a mysterious spiral of events that puts their lives in danger more than once, with no apparent reason.

What connection could there be between an ancient amulet, a secret society and the long-dead poet Dante Alighieri? A sinister, complicated conspiracy that gradually catches up with the characters. And of course, one last twist before the ending.

*Dante’s Amulet is a follow-up of Mirage Beyond Flames.

  7. At least the boy is saying "may I" instead of "gimme" or other demands. You raised a well mannered child! :) (and I'm sure he behaves this way ALL the time!)
My goal for today is to get out at lunch and enjoy the summer. Even if just on my lunch break.

Here is my August IWSG post. It's the second post on my blog today because my Pitch Wars mentor bio needs to stay at the top. Thanks!

  11. Now it's back to the schedule, heh? Those kids take a lot of attention and summer's the time for it. No pumpkins yet, please. And the first person say anything about Santa gets a black eye.

  12. Don't talk to me about fall! Summer is my golden time, when I get the most writing done. I'm trying to enjoy every minute that I have of this last month. Your boy sounds like a great kid!

  13. Points for may I. At least he asks before doing it! Just remember the little guy will soon be out the door for college. No more time for play. Enjoy him now. All the best in your writing projects.

  19. I remember those days with the kids. Hold onto them, time goes by so fast and before you know it they are out of the house and forget about you as they deal more with their friends and co-workers.
