Summer days are dwindling! #InternationalCatDay Gnameless-Gnome!

It's been a beautiful summer so far, albeit a hot summer, but it's just going by too damn fast! It's August 8th for goodness sake!

Let's make some more summer memories before it's too late!

1. Light the damn fire-pit!
2. Go to the ice cream stand for soft ice cream!
3. Beach!
4. Beverages under the stars! [See Damn fire-pit above.]
5. Use the sprinkler!
6. Burn The BOY's 5th grade school work before sixth grade starts. [See Damn fire-pit above.]
7. Use the grill more!
8. Smores! [See Damn fire-pit above.]
9. ...

What else should we be doing this summer?
What else will YOU be doing?

Happy #InternationalCatDay!

Believe it or not...another gnome has shown up at the house. A very patriotic gnome that The HUSBAND has named SAM.

From Left to Right: Sparks, Fredricks Burg, Chief Osce-Gnoma, Stormy the Weather Gnome, SAM, [Insert Gnome-Gname here], Stormy 2.0.
While introducing SAM on Facebook, we realized that we had yet to gname the little gnome up front.

Wanna help?

  1. Name him Firepit. (Full name Damn Firepit, of course.)

  2. How about Shorty? He's kinda small compared to his buddies.

  3. Handy? Friendly?

I so want to build a fire pit. We have a section of lawn that's half moss and I want to patio it and put a standing swing and a fire pit there.

    1. Ours is a freestanding pit, but a built in would be awesome. We need to use it more no matter what.

  4. I think his name should have something to do with the flower on his hat. Is there a "manly" sounding flower? How about Dogwood? Or Thistle?

This summer is flying by. I haven't done any of the things on your awesome list yet--have to get moving!

    1. Thistle? That could work!
We need to get going! Oh wait, heat wave! BLEH!

    2. Aw, let me know which name you go with!

I love heat waves. Send them up here, please.

  5. Don't forget the meteor showers in August. Go look at the stars!

  6. I wanted to offer a name but I like Alex's suggestion too much.

Don't forget sit outside at night and watch the lightning bugs (or fireflies, depending on where you grew up).

    1. They call them both here!

We even caught and released a few!

  7. I like your list and I really like how you burn the previous years homework. I need to do that. As far as names, I am afraid I am no help. I think it's whatever strikes your fancy and fits with the rest of the crew :)

    1. Thank you! Burning the homework is fun for all of us!

  8. The summer definitely flew by. My little guy is back to school already. We'd do more firepit days if it weren't so humid and/or wet! I like the suggestion of naming the gnome after a flower, but it doesn't have to sound manly. Petunia. Orchid. A Gnome named Sue. (After black-eyed susans!)

P.S. I'm reading the Goosebumps book, Planet of the Lawn Gnomes with my son. Those are NOT friendly gnomes! *LOL*

    1. Sue is really funny. :)

They're pretty scary gnomes in the books!
