Well, the lawn isn't that little, but it's not like hard to mow or anything.
Basically, it's one of those chores that you have to do, and it looks great when it's done, but it's like 3 hours of your week that you just don't get back.
I should have mowed about a week ago, but it rained, so I didn't, and now it looks a little shaggy around the edges.
But, that's okay. I will only have to mow 2 or 3 more times before I can lock that sucker up in the shed and call it another year.
Of course, mowing now means that I'm mowing up all the leaves that will start falling. Luckily, the maple trees are only in the front yard. :)
First, I have to make a giant pile for The BOY to jump in.

It's tradition.
Do you get to make leaf piles where you live?
I'm with you! It will be another month before I get to stop mowing though.
ReplyDeleteWe have mostly pine trees, so no pile of leaves. I just mow what leaves we get.
Hi Heather - I actually love mowing ... but now don't have a lawn to mow - though it can become a chore ... also no leaves - but I'm sure I'll be seeing piles around ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteIt might be a while before our lawn goes dormant but it has slowed down.
ReplyDeleteWe used to make giant piles of leaves when the kids were little. We'll probably have about 6 more weeks of mowing. But I do like when it's over for the season though I miss summer.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a yard, just a small patch of grass in front of my patio, since I live in an apartment. But I know what you mean about doing chores; I feel that way about cleaning the bathroom or mopping the floor. I know it needs to be done, and I feel better once it is done, but I just don't like doing it.
ReplyDeleteI have a tree in my front yard that makes its own leaf pile, but the leaves don't fall until December or January. I have to clean them up right away because my neighbor hates it when they blow onto his lawn.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I vaguely recall making leaf piles, but I don't think I ever jumped in them. Was too concerned with icky creatures hiding in them.
ReplyDeleteMy giant maple trees haven't even started to change colors yet! I hope they've at least dropped some by Halloween - they look cool on my cemetery. But yes - we play in the leaves.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get enough leaves in our yard, but sometimes we find them elsewhere!
