Your wonderful host, author, developer, producer, director, musician and NINJA, Alex J. Cavanaugh has recruited Nancy S. Thompson, Mark Koopmans and MOI to help co-host today!
So, I will keep it short.

Today's genre: Water Movies
Sphere. (Honestly, this movie, SUCKED, but the book, the book was awesome. You should read it.)
Norman Goodman: I would be happy if Jerry had no emotions whatsoever. Because the thing of it is once you go down that road... here's Jerry, an emotional being cooped up for 300 years with no one to talk to... none of the socialization, the emotional growth that comes from contact with other emotional beings...
Harry: So...?
Norman Goodman: What happens if Jerry gets mad?
Next week: CHOOSE YOUR OWN QUOTE!
Good quote from a blah film.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being an awesome co-host today!
Lol. Great post. Write. Yes. That is kind of the most important part of all this, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteHello Heather! Thanks for hosting! Yeah Sphere the film did nothing for me. I saw a girl with a tee shirt on the other day that said, "The book was better."
ReplyDeletelol... need one of those! :)
Yes, WRITE! Write what you are only brave enough to think, write what the secrets you have never told, write what breaks your heart. Happy to join the Group. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing Sphere on the Warner Brother's lot. Yeah. I didn't get it either. Maybe I should read the book. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is no better advice, for sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting this month and have a great holiday!
Even the "not-so-much" films have their moments! You got that moment with the dialogue!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post as co-host today. And your advice is perfect.
I love quotes ...
ReplyDeleteWRITE!
Writers write.
Perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to find that treefort where I can hide out and write my stories. Then, invite all my friends over to act out the plays that I wrote, and have a picnic. Write. Simple advice. Like, eat less, exercise more. Not complicated in theory. Difficult in practice.
ReplyDeleteWrite on!
It's amazing how all of it always boils down to the same message, which you so succinctly put.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will have to check out the book because I’ve heard the same thing (sucky movie, good book) from way more than one person.
WRITE! Wonderful advice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting Heather.
Woman of few words.
ReplyDeleteWrite.
ReplyDeleteA single word.
This reinforces the theory that 'less is more'!
Thanks for co-hosting the IWSG.
Writer In Transit
Yeah, that's a good way to beat the blahs and the doubts.
ReplyDeleteHa! That ONE word has so much impact. So guess what I'm going to do since it is a rainy day :)

Yes, always good advice, and Sphere was a bit odd, the movie. Books are always better - always!
ReplyDeleteWrite. That's the motivation I need today. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for co-hosting!! You rock!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, your advice is spot on. We must write.
Elsie
Excellent advice! It certainly solves a lot of problems.
ReplyDeleteI think continuing to write is the only way to deal with all of our writing insecurities. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat IWSG post!
Kim
(This Writer's Growing)
One word is all you need! :) Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteShort, sweet, and to the point!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Sphere, but I do indeed like that quote :)
You get the award for the most succinct post! Hey, I noticed that you're a zombie genre fan. I just finished Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry, mostly because I just met the guy and wanted to read one of his books. It wasn't what I expected at all and my first foray into that genre.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being such a hospitable co-host!
Is it my imagination or are there a lot of blah movies? Or maybe I'm confusing them with the re-boots?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything totally original since Inception.

Have to admit, "write" gets quickly to the point! I agree and that's what gave me my idea on what to write today! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteApart from Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton hasn't had much luck with movie adaptations! :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of liked "Sphere." It dealt with some really interesting psychological issues. It was almost a mystery. But I have to admit I liked "Abyss" too, so maybe I just like underwater movies! LOL
ReplyDeleteWrite.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Sometimes, I think I need that stamped on my forehead. ;)
I like your IWSG advice :) Thanks for co-hosting this month!
ReplyDeleteCan't think of any better advice to offer writers.
ReplyDeleteAnd I never saw Sphere.
Hey Heather,
ReplyDeleteSeriously, my ego can't take much more of this. I keep noting all you fine folks mentioning the "IWSG" aka "I Was Seeking Gary:)
You are right, write!
I know, a bit ahead of myself. How did that happen? Thanks and "go ahead, make my day!"...
Gary :)
I never saw the movie but the book was awesome! Are you as tired as I am after reading all those posts? How does Alex do it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great comments everyone! I appreciate the visit!
ReplyDeleteHeather
Practice does make perfect, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for being a co-host. It's a lot of work getting to everyone. I started commenting late last night and throughout the day and again tonight. I still haven't gotten to everyone.

Love your simple concept Heather :)
ReplyDelete.....dhole
Exactly. Writing is something we should come back to no matter what. Writing is what makes us real writers. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou make me think of times I have struggled to pare things down to the perfect word. Well done! :). Thank you for co-hosting.
ReplyDeleteShort and to the point!
ReplyDeleteI'll get write to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting, Heather.

wow, 296? That's amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote Heather! Thanks for co-hosting the IWSG!
