I just had to post a Wednesday Movie Quote!
Especially when you said we could pick any movie we wanted!
Today's genre: Free-For-All!
The X-Files: Fight the Future
Mulder: "I'm the key figure in an on-going government charade, the plot to conceal the truth about the existence of extraterrestrials. It's a global conspiracy, actually, with key players in the highest levels of power, that reaches down into the lives of every man, woman, and child on this planet. (laughs) So, of course, no one believes me. I'm an annoyance to my superiors, a joke to my peers. They call me Spooky. Spooky Mulder, whose sister was abducted by aliens when he was just a kid and who now chases after little green men with a badge and a gun, shouting to the heavens or to anyone who will listen that the fix is in, that the sky is falling and when it hits it's gonna be the shit-storm of all time."
Some of the best dialogue I've ever heard was on The X-Files. Always smart and funny. The X-Files was considered a TV drama but it was really too funny for that.
The Wednesday Movie Quote is going on a short hiatus. Stay tuned.

As for the much needed cyber-smack!
I'm faking it.
I'm opening my book, I'm reading my book, I'm changing small things in my book.
What I'm not doing is WRITING in my book.
I've completely psyched myself out of writing book two.
All around me people are writing and submitting and publishing and writing and I just stare at the pages.
This is what I really need.
So, can you all just give me a virtual smack across the face so I can get back to writing?
Please?
Thank you.
P.S.: If you didn't get a chance to read yesterday's post about the 'FIVE things you should know about RIGHT now!' then go HERE!
It's about 4 awesome authors and ME!
Prodded you to do a quote though, didn't I? X-Files was an awesome show. The ones since it, like Fringe, just can't measure up.
ReplyDeleteNow, write something!!! Darn it. (I won't smack you though.)
Since I've finally been successful in smacking myself back into writing, I can try to pass it on! Plus, a virtual smack won't really hurt, right? *smack!*
ReplyDeleteYou are coming to my house in 11 days....I expect you to bring me something to read! Now, go! Write!!
ReplyDeleteOr have some chocolate....either one will make me happy.
Love you!
K.
Alex - Yes, you did prod! You're so right. Nothing compares! Thank you for stopping in!
ReplyDeleteSarah - Nope! Didn't hurt at all! But, I need them!
Thanks for coming!
K. - I will do BOTH!!! Thank you!
HMG
I know you want a cyber-smack, but my own cyber-writing-glass-house won't allow me to be that hypocritical, so no smack from me. I believe in waiting for the story idea to stew, like in a crock pot. My own crock pot concoctions are starting to petrify, but when the time is right, I'll write -- and I'm sure you will, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteOk, the choice is write on the book or start cleaning the basement. Whacha gonna choose?
ReplyDeleteDamn I miss that show.
ReplyDeletethe tv world needs another team like that! their chem was magic! hmm maggie and jack!
ReplyDeletenow get back to writing so i can read the next one!
Ah, the X-Files...how I loved that show. Especially the comedic ones, and when Mulder teased Scully about being so short...I seem to recall him wondering aloud if her little feet could reach the pedals of the car, one time. :-)
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile: get back to work, girl! Your masterpiece ain't just gonna write itself! ::smacks you with a wet noodle:: ;-)
