2 strings walk into a bar. The bartender points his finger at them and says, "We don't serve your kind here." The 2 strings leave. Out on the sidewalk 1 string says to the other, "I've got an idea." He twists and turns and pulls at some threads making them go this way and that before he walks back into the bar. The bartender looks at him suspiciously and asks, "You're not a string, are you?" And the string replies, "No, I'm a frayed knot!"
Yuck, yuck, yuck!
Have I told you guys how much you all mean to me lately?
I just read a post from an author who mentions that she would never have made it as far as she has without the support of her online blog community.
And, I said to myself, self, that's exactly how I feel.
I know I've said it before but, thank you.
Thank you for the comments and the support and the great posts and the helping hands and everything that we all do together here to help each other. And, everything we do for each other on all our other social platforms as well.
It's really awesome.
Speaking of nice things to do, Christine Rains has her review of Maguire's Corner up on her blog today. So cool. Thank you, Christine!
Have you read her amazing 13th Floor series yet? You really should.
Don't forget, Maguire's Corner is on sale for just a few more days but only on Front Porch Romance!
I'm off...must type up all the handwritten pages I wrote the other day at McDonalds while my son tore up their playplace. Not quite as glam as J.K. Rowling in her English coffee shop but it's what I had to work with.
Did you have a nice weekend?
I know I wouldn't have kept going if not for my friends here. One book and then I would've been out of here.
ReplyDeleteRead the review! It rocked.
I had a good weekend of the Three Rs: rest, relaxation, and writing.
ReplyDeleteAnd there is no way I would be here without the awesome support of my fellow bloggers and blogettes and my writing groups.
I've heard that one before. It's a good one to tell when all the small talk has run out and you're searching for something to fill the gap in awkward meetings with strangers because it's very friendly to all audiences.
ReplyDeleteI 1000% agree with that sentiment- so much of the growth i've made as a writer this year is due to the new connections i've made with people in the blogging world. Everyone is SO supportive it's like having my own eprsonal cheerleading squad and I've taken more risks, exposed myself more and enjoyed writing a HECK OF A LOT more because of it.
And people like you who have taken the plunge into publishing give me reason to hope that someday, when I'm ready, I'll be able to make the same leap. So thank YOU!Congrats on the still in-coming reviews.
The writing community is awesome. There's so much support and encouragement. I'm very happy to have posted the review. Your book is fabulous! And thank you so much for mentioning my series too. I'm starting work on the bonus story today for the collection!
ReplyDeleteThis community is so supportive, often more so than people in real life.
ReplyDeleteI agree - just talking to people who know exactly what you're going through helps so much. Friends and family who are not writers can only help so much, before they start to wonder why pretend people are more important than they are!
ReplyDeleteHa! I have heard that joke and I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blogging community, too. I've learned so much from you people!
Sorry. I'm still sitting here groaning over that joke. *grin*
ReplyDeleteI have heard that one before, but it still makes me laugh, so it's cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome community. I'm thankful I haven't been kicked out yet.
And the last time my niece was up, I wrote a few pages while she was at the town's version a Chuck E. Cheese.

L. Diane - That is the truth. I feel that way too.
Annalisa - Yes, family can only take so much of my whining. :)
Rachel - You people? Ha! Crackin' up. I can hear a movie line in that! Congrats out to you as well!
LD - It's a two-groaner!
M.J. - You won't get kicked out anytime soon. Maybe you need your niece to come over more often!

Heather
