There is too much going on in my head right now and I can't focus on any new stuff.
The more I try, the more my brain re-focuses on old stuff that it knows very well. Like a constant. Something it can hold on to.
Almost 6 years ago I wrote my original blog post about trying to publish my first completed manuscript, Setting the Record Straight. My rock star book.
I've pulled it up on the computer [again] and started tinkering with it. Mostly because it's already written. I don't have to come up with new words.
But, it needs A LOT of editing. I'm pretty sure I've shared this with you all before.
Then yesterday I came across this picture....
I'm so in love.
This is with no doubt the lead from my book...Colin. It must be fate!
Now, if i can just focus on my re-focus, I might get something done.

Our Spring is a little broken, but it's New York so I should be used to it.

Hi Heather ... I'd be happy to edit under the covers with Colin! Can quite see why you're captivated ... good luck with those revisions .. but with the A-Z around the corner ... I'd curl up and hunker down til the 1st rolls around ... enjoy! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteRun with that old story, even if you have to rewrite it. Sometimes good things come...
ReplyDeleteIt's great when you get a bolt of inspiration that reinvigorates a story. Hope you get some good edits done!
ReplyDeleteGood, heavens! If I had a picture like that on my computer, I might not ever get anything done again!

Life & Faith in Caneyhead
I did this recently. The book/series I blogged about in my first and second year, I recently edited with the help of beta readers. It really helped!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! And use that eye candy as inspiration. ;)
I had this problem today. My focus was off and I couldn't find the motivation to work on anything recent. So I watched a Wild Target instead. It was funny.
ReplyDeleteWe're having the same kind of spring. It may finally be here to stay, but we've been known to have a good ol' April blizzard.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the book!
