#IWSG - Great opportunities you don't want to miss!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

July 5 Optional Question: What is one valuable lesson you've learned since you started writing?

The awesome co-hosts for the July 5 posting of the IWSG will be Tamara Narayan, Pat Hatt, Patricia Lynne, Juneta Key, and Doreen McGettigan!

Only one valuable lesson? For writers?
Clear your browser history on a regular basis, but understand and accept that you're probably already on an FBI watch list of some kind. :)

  1. Clearing that browsing history is especially important for those of you who write mysteries!

  2. Yes, clearing our browser is important, but I don't do it enough. So many great opportunities with this group.

  3. I haven't cleared mine in a long time. Not sure I would be busted for searching for reviewers though. Or Minions. LOL

  4. I haven't cleared my history yet either. With my first novel about a terrorist and bombs, I'm so being monitored right now. By a very bored person most likely.

I'm looking forward to the Twitter PItch Party. As a Twitter newbie, I'll hope I can figure everything out in time.

  5. Hahahaha—Love your advice! And boy, do I have to learn how to clear my search history. Not that it really matters at this point. My name has been permanently engraved on that watch list. :)

Love everything the IWSG has going on. It's fantastic how far this group has gone.

  6. LOL. But clearing your history doesn't permanently delete the trail. I say this being married to a techie. Regardless, it may make you less conspicuous...or maybe just more suspicious. :P

  7. Lol. Or use Private Browsing! :)

  8. I can't remember the last time I deleted my browser history. Hehehe. I should do that this week! :)

  9. This made me smile. I'm sure every writer has a dubious browser history lurking! Fantastic result for the IWSG!

  10. Mmm...I don't think the FBI is looking at my Internet trail. If they are, they're probably why I check my email accounts so often. Although I once looked at my Google Analytics for my blog and saw a hit from the Department of Homeland Security, which was creepy.

  11. Tee-hee... I just choked and dribbled tea out my nose reading your answer. I've never cleared my browser history... it's just never crossed my mind. I'm doing it straight after I post this message!:)

  12. You always make me laugh. So true though.

  13. I just use private browsing / incognito mode all the time. And usually a VPN too. I'm just paranoid. :-P

  15. Hi Heather - congratulations to all the wonderful helpers with IWSG - great group and great encouragement ... love some of these thoughts from you all. I hope anyone looking would be more encouraged to read my posts - than my browser history - must be the dullest thing on earth!

I must look into the Twitter pitch ... cheers Hilary

  16. LOL!! I never, ever thought of clearing my browsers history. And lately I've been searching how to commit murder with poison....hahhaaaa....

  17. ROGLOL! I had to buy that on both a coffee cup and a t-shirt. Since I write mysteries, my browser history involves cadaver dogs, poisons, what does it feel like when you're stabbed and most recently sex trafficking!

  18. I always clear my browser history whenever I'm visiting my parents, just in case one of them borrows my computer. To this day they still don't know about my blog or my Twitter page. :)
