It's been two weeks since my last blog post...

If I listed all the things I did in the last two weeks, not only would y'all be bored and clicking the little x to close this page, but I'm also sure none of you would be that impressed.

Let's just say that it was a lot and I'm not quite done yet. Just a few more events to get through and then I can relax.

Yeah, right.

What's distressing is how much work I didn't get accomplished on my book. (Reason #430 why I don't do NaNoWriMo.)

What I did do, was something very frightening.

I sent my two-thirds finished masterpiece to my two 'editors' to take a gander at. I'm hoping they can help me figure out if I took a wrong turn somewhere or if I just need to plow through.

Anyway. Thanks for listening, as always, and here are a few funnies to keep you going!

My To Do list, has a To Do list.

Work, work, work. Busy, busy, busy.

Getting stuff done, but none of it for me.

Why do the last few months of the year always seem to be the busiest?

Some of its my fault. I tend to schedule too much stuff.

The rest I blame on the multitude of holidays, birthdays, and events that all seem to pile up in November and December.

I really need to get back to my book this month, but the month is mysteriously half over already!

Well, I better go do something productive.

How about you guys? Is November going too fast for you?

Fellow InkSpell Author, Mark Love.

A serial killer is on the loose in metro Detroit. Three female victims have been discovered in motel rooms in different suburban cities surrounding Motown. The only connection is that each body is found in Room 319, and the killer leaves the taunting message “Why 319?” on the bathroom mirror, written with the victim’s lipstick.

Detective Jefferson Chene heads up an elite squad of detectives assigned to the case. With no home life, he devotes every waking moment to catching killers. But this one is more elusive than most. With no clues and no apparent link between the victims, Chene is at a dead end. But a startling revelation busts the case wide open. He’s closing in on the murderer, but will it be before another young woman loses her life?

This blog post is full of multiple releases!

I meant book releases! Sheesh! You guys have dirty minds. :)

A plethora of book releases, two giveaways, and one cover reveal are included in this Friday post!

Let's get to it!

Books 1 and 2 in the Christine Rains series, Totem, are now available! Book 3 will be available on Nov. 14th!

Three sisters.
Seven totem tokens.
One chance to save their world.

Dark Dawning (Totem #1)

It’s a dark day when someone murders one of their own.

Shifters across Alaska are going missing. When up and coming interior designer Ametta Dorn rescues the gorgeous Kodiak shifter Lucky Osberg, she comes into the crosshairs of two relentless hunters. While Lucky sets his sights on wooing her, the killers seek to not only capture her in her powerful polar bear form but to also take her skin.

To prevent her murder and the deaths of other shifters, she must work with Lucky to track down and stop these merciless hunters. After all, their enemy’s plan for shifter skins is something much more terrifying than collecting mere trophies.

Release date: October 17th, 2016

Silent Whispers (Totem #2)

It’s not only the dead who whisper upon the wind.

An ancient totem pole has gone missing, and its pieces are scattered across Alaska. Restoring the seven totem tokens may be the only way to save every shifter in the world.

Kinley Dorn, a geeky architect with a heart of gold and a polar bear shifter, jumps at the opportunity to help her family find the lost pieces. Their idea of “helping” involves staying indoors to research online. Work leads Kinley to sexy lynx shifter Ransom Averill. He coaxes her away from the safety behind her computer and into the path of a rampaging giant. Terrifying as the monster might be, she must brave its mountain because the owl totem is calling to her through silent whispers.

Release date: October 31st, 2016.

Cloak of Snow (Totem #3)

No one messes with Saskia Dorn’s family and gets away with it.

The same murderous shifters who had hunted her sister have attempted to steal a magical totem pole. Since the pieces are scattered across Alaska, Saskia, a polar bear shifter, takes her search to the tundra for any signs of the lost totems.

Instead she finds Sedge, the latest reincarnation of the old Inuit Bear god, who just happens to be the man who broke her heart.

They come across a small native village tormented by the Jinxioc, evil gnomes with an appetite for human flesh. Sedge declares he will rid the people of the menace, believing a totem token is nearby affecting the devils’ behavior. At his side, Saskia battles to save the tribesmen, but it could mean sacrificing herself.

About the Book:
On the run from the Organization, Starr never planned on falling in love.
Starr Bishop’s the complete package. A perfect smile, brains to match, and a winning attitude. Boys want to date her and girls want to be her. She’s the type of girl you want to hate, if only she wasn’t so damn likable. But don’t worry, she’s not interested in your boyfriend. Boys are one complication she can live without.
When the Organization decides she’s not only the model student but the ideal assassin, Starr’ll need a lot more than high test scores and extracurricular involvement to get herself out of that commitment.
Dark, moody, and dead sexy Christian Evergood is the last person she’d expect—or even want— to come to her rescue. From opposite ends of Webster Highs social hierarchy, their lives collide in one electrifying moment. Christian isnt the Goth loner he pretends to be, hes a part Cherokee, All-American boy who wants to be a hero, Starrs hero. Christian makes Starr forget that the Organization is after her, but nothing will stop the Organization from collecting their top recruit.
By the way, the spot for junior class president just became available.

Playlist for Starr Fall. Dive in and give a listen.

About the Author

Kim once smashed into a tree while skiing. The accident led to a concussion, a cracked sternum, temporary notoriety as a sixth grader returned from the dead, and the realization that fictionalized accounts are way more interesting than just slipping on the ice.

An unhealthy obsession with conspiracy theories combined with a love of travel and happily ever afters led Kim to write her YA novel, Starr Fall, where a secret organization decides Starr Bishop would make the ideal assassin. While in hiding, Starr meets dark, moody, and dead sexy Christian Evergood. Cue the swoon worthy music. But it’s not all happily ever afters for Kim, her NA novel, And Then He, explores the dark and scary corners of the human psyche. Following a night of innocent flirting with a handsome stranger, Tiffani finds herself in the midst of a nightmare she can’t escape. And Then He is available now through Amazon and other major book retailers. Starr Fall will debut November 2016 with Inkspell Publishing. Starr Lost will release in January 2017, followed by Starr Gone in June 2017.

When she’s not doing something writerly, Kim can be found jumping into snow drifts with her three kids, husband, and dog. She’s careful to avoid trees.

#IWSG - Don't tell me what to do #NaNoWriMo!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

November 2 Question: What is your favorite aspect of being a writer?

Lesley Gore "You Don't Own Me"

I laugh each time I hear that song in the car commercial lately. Except, I equate it to writing, not to boys.

You don't own me
I'm not just one of your many toys
You don't own me
Don't say I can't go with other ... words

Don't tell me what to do!
And, don't tell me what to say!

This is exactly what happened last time I tried to do NaNoWriMo [National Novel Writing Month].

Apparently, I don't take orders well from anyone, including myself.

Don't tell me how many words to write in a day, Heather. I'm not gonna do it. Not for you, not for anyone!

Yeah. That doesn't help.

So, to all of you that have discipline, and have signed-up and will do your very best to write a some or all of a novel in one month ...

Here are some funnies to keep you going!
