The Re-opening of The X-Files News - WRITE!

The Re-opening of The X-Files News

It's been a while since I've given you guys any updates and the new episodes are less than two months away!

I don't want to share any spoilers so I've been trying not to post too much.

There's a few short video snippets on the TV Guide site if you're interested.

The X-Files Cast on What It's Like to Return

The X-Files Cast Recalls Their Favorite Moments

Kumail Nanjiani Talks Going from X-Files Superfan to Guest Star

TV.com has an article: The X-Files: Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Return Episode. It may have a little too much information and honestly, I stopped reading it. I want to get my own first impressions of the show.

Inverse.com shared The 12 'X-Files' Episodes to Watch Before the New Season Debuts article to help give fans that don't want to re-watch every episode (of course we do) a refresher before the new season starts.

The 201 Days of The X-Files has caught up to me and we should be watching the same show today, Season 7, Episode 8, The Amazing Maleeni!

So, now you're all caught up, too!

I have to get back to writing today. I've actually made some progress and I don't want to lose my train of thought. :)

Let's get to it, people!

5 things you're thankful for. GO! Plus some other cool stuff!

It's the week of Thanksgiving in the US!!

Name 5 things you're thankful for!

1. My husband. He is my rock and my rockstar!
2. My son. He's the one thing I never knew I needed.
3. My family. Always there for me.
4. My friends. Friends I see. Friends I don't see. Friends I haven't even met yet.
5. My words. Sometimes they fail me, but most of the time they bring me immeasurable joy.

Thanksgiving isn't about shopping for next month, or making the perfect turkey, or getting a day off from work.

It IS about being thankful.

Even when we have very little, when we struggle and sacrifice, we still have the ability to thank the universe for our very lives.

Thank you.

The Undead Road: My Zombie Summer: Part 1

Publisher: CreateSpace / Dashboard Books
Ebook Release: January 1st, 2016
Paperback: January 26th, 2016
Cover by Steven Novak

Nothing brings the family together like a zombie apocalypse …

Fifteen-year-old Jeremy Barnes would rather watch a zombie movie than shoot a real one, but he has no choice if his family wants to survive the end of the world. Their plan? Drive across the infected United States to a cabin in the Colorado Rockies without a scratch, but their trip takes a complicated detour in the middle of Nebraska when they find Kaylynn, a girl who can handle a baseball bat better than Jeremy can hold a .45 Berretta. And when they stumble into a sanctuary, Jeremy soon learns that Kaylynn is stronger than she looks—a deadly secret lies inside her.

After the radio picks up a distress call from Kansas City about a possible cure, Jeremy’s parents go with a team to investigate. They never return. The only way to find their parents is for Jeremy and his sister Jewel to rely on a dangerous girl who might just turn on them at any moment.

Contest Details:

A while ago, David invited the blogosphere to let him turn one unfortunate lucky contestant into a zombie for The Undead Road. The winner was Ilima Todd, who is now the awesome author of Remake. The next installment of My Zombie Summer is underway, and David wants to do this contest again. Want to be in a zombie book? Not only is this your chance, but it is your choice!

Between now and next Wednesday, send an email to dpowersking [at] gmail [dot] com, with the subject line: Zombify Me! Contest. In your email, David wants you to tell him three things:

1: The name you will be identified as (example: your first name).
2: A description of yourself—the more detailed you are, the better.
3: How would you like the survivors to put you out of your misery?

Four casualties contestants will be chosen on Wednesday, November 25th. The most inventive or interesting entry will be zombified! The other three who are unlucky fortunate enough to survive will be given special honors. Winners will be announced on December 2nd on David’s blog.

Prizes? The winner will be zombified in the pages of My Zombie Summer: Part Two, receive a signed proof of the novel (when it’s ready), and a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card. The runner ups will receive a free ebook of The Undead Road for their Kindle (other platforms TBA).

Thank you for participating, and good luck!

Falling for Fall and don't miss these great book deals!

Monday just keeps coming around again.
Weird, right?

The BOY picking apples for the Fall Festival at the firehouse.
Grimm on a limb! I'm sure he'll be just as popular as that creepy elf!
Hamish the Hairy of the Cattle Clan MacShortRib, stealing Halloween candy.

It's foggy and chilly in the North East this morning. I woke to see frost on the pumpkin. Literally. And, the grass. And, the cars.

My most favorite season is almost over, BUT ... the BOY and I had to complete one very important tradition.

Blurb:

When Officer Blake Herro agreed to go undercover in the Mob, he thought he understood the risks. But he's made mistakes and now an innocent woman has become their target. He's determined to protect her at all costs.

The Mob's death threat turns Dr. Dani Hart's life upside down, but there is one danger she doesn’t anticipate. As she's dodging bullets, she's falling in love with Blake. With danger all around them, will she and Blake survive and have a happy ending, or will the Mob make good on their threat?

Excerpt:

She had no time to react when a strong force bowled her through the doorway of her apartment, and a large hand plastered over her mouth. The man she had bumped into on the stairs had a firm grip on her as he kicked the door closed behind them. She struggled to get free, but his hold kept her back pressed against his chest.

“It’s okay. I’m a cop. My name is Blake Herro.” He hauled her into the living room. “There are six armed men coming up the stairs. We need to hide. Where can we hide?”

Her mind went blank, she even forgot about the ice cream.

“Where?” he demanded with a quick shake.

She pointed to the six-foot long, three-foot high handcrafted cedar chest she used for a coffee table. Officer Herro pulled her to it and flung open the lid.

“Get in,” he ordered.

They both acknowledge reluctantly the complicated chemistry between them, but Yoko’s grand scheme of things doesn’t involve falling in love, nor does she think Mark would want her if he found out about her past. To get revenge and prevent other girls from sharing her fate, she plans to ruin the Chinese triad that has destroyed her life and innocence.
However, she doesn’t realize that Mark can be an asset in her plans of bringing down the powerful mobster Michael Chen and his interlopes.
