H is for Hush - A to Z Challenge

April 10-16, 2011
National Library Week!

National Library Week is an annual celebration of the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.
  • April – School Library Month
  • April 11 – 2011 State of America's Report released
  • April 12 – National Library Workers Day
  • April 13 – National Bookmobile Day
  • April 14 – Support Teen Literature Day

I bet most of us love our libraries.

I can't count the number of hours that I have spent at libraries: reading, volunteering, going to programs, working, I even hosted a class (it was about chocolate).

It all comes down to being a part of something bigger, being part of a larger community, even if you are perusing the stacks all by yourself.

If you haven't been to your library in a while maybe its time you paid them a visit and see what's going on!

Hush is also one of my favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes. No words are spoken almost the entire show. And...Giles is a librarian!

Oh...and...Nathan Fillion doesn't want to see 'naked shelves' at our libraries!
He supports Kids Need To Read!

  3. I love libraries, and your library post reminded me that I haven't been to the National library of this country for the longest time. Time to change that :)

  5. I just LOVE the library too. I can close my eyes and imagine the smell of those books and it takes me back to my childhood.

  8. I love libraries and try to visit our local one as much as I can. That's one of the reasons I write - so my books are in libraries!

  10. I've haven't been to a library in YEARS. I almost hate to admit that. BUT, when I get back home to Chicago, I will make a point of going and getting my treasured library card. It's time. I am long OVERDUE.

  11. Great comments!
I'm headed to the library today for a local author book fair. Too bad I'm only attending and not one of the authors.
