#IWSG Snow Post and Ninja News and Rafflecopter!

WOW! It's that time again.

In 'The Creator's' own words:

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

Alex J. Cavanaugh's awesome co-hosts today are Sheena-kay Graham, Julie Musil, Jamie Ayres, and Mike Swift! Please be sure to thank them for their time and effort to make all IWSG members feel welcome.

I am editing book two in the Maguire's Corner series.

It's taking longer than I would like.

Maybe its because the other day I cleaned the kitchen instead of working on the book.

Most of you know how i feel about dishes.

(HATE THEM!)

I'll get through the edits. I just need to focus.

I have a lot of people waiting to read it this time which is SO amazing.

Only two people wanted to read the original MC.

Now, MC has ... fans. :)

Speaking of 'The Creator' here is some great news about Alex J. Cavanaugh's book!

CassaFire by Alex J. Cavanaugh – Amazon Best Seller!
Science fiction - space opera/adventure
EBook ISBN 978-0-9827139-6-9 $.99 special!

CassaStar was only the beginning…

The Vindicarn War is a distant memory and Byron’s days of piloting Cosbolt fighters are over. He has kept the promise he made to his fallen mentor and friend - to probe space on an exploration vessel. Shuttle work is dull, but it’s a free and solitary existence. The senior officer is content with his life aboard the Rennather.

The detection of alien ruins sends the exploration ship to the distant planet of Tgren. If their scientists can decipher the language, they can unlock the secrets of this device. Is it a key to the Tgren's civilization or a weapon of unimaginable power? Tensions mount as their new allies are suspicious of the Cassan's technology and strange mental abilities.

To complicate matters, the Tgrens are showing signs of mental powers themselves, the strongest of which belongs to a pilot named Athee, a woman whose skills rival Byron’s unique abilities. Forced to train her mind and further develop her flying aptitude, he finds his patience strained. Add a reluctant friendship with a young scientist, and he feels invaded on every level. All Byron wanted was his privacy…

“This sequel to Cavanaugh's first novel, CassaStar, delivers on the promise of its predecessor, combining military action sequences and political intrigue with strong, memorable characters. Reminiscent of the action-driven stories of Robert A. Heinlein's early fiction…” - Library Journal

  1. Procrastination and revision -- it's a tight wire balance for me. I have to build in time to think but revisioning takes some think and a clean house is a good thing. HAPPY IWSG day!

  2. It is hard, but at least you have people pushing you to finish. You will get it done. Good luck on the edits, hope they come out great.

  3. When the fans are waiting, it's certainly motivating.
Thanks for mentioning CassaFire's sale today - you rock!

  4. I find I always become very housework oriented when editing. My significant other can always tell when I'm editing and not writing.

Best of luck with your editing—and Hooray for having fans! That must feel great.

  5. Cleaning is overrated. I say leave the dishes to someone else. =P Good luck with the edits!

  6. Oh, I hate dishes too . . . don't look near my sink, just don't! Aagh. I looked. Sigh. Must do them. But I think I'll write for a half hour first. Then . . . well, I'm sure my kids will have homeschool questions for me. :) Should I answer a question per dish washed? No, that would be bad.

  7. Ah, those edits. They never seem to go away. Good luck with yours. It's great that you have fans waiting.

As for housework: only when there's nothing else to do. :)

  8. I also hate dishes. Best of luck with edits!

  9. I hate unloading the dishwasher! Just keep working on the edits.

  10. Regarding dishes we gave it up and use paper plates and such. Otherwise we're doing two loads a day.

  11. Not a big fan of dishes myself, and boy do I do enough of them. Yay! MC has fans! :)

  12. I am with you on the dishes, ugghhh. My sink is pretty full at the moment but I'm too comfy reading posts to worry about them. Balancing home, family, work and dreams can make you dizzy.
I am supposed to be editing now.
    Fans are awesome!

  14. Sometimes the dishes come before the writing. I usually regret it. Except for, you know, having clean dishes. Which is also important.

  15. Stormy doesn't do dishes then? Ah, if only all writers were automatically given maids. I'd be so much more productive.

  16. Usually when the dishes are towering in the sink, preventing you from using the sink to wash your hands, while the dishwasher is full of clean-but-not-put-away dishes, then it's time to take a break from writing. We forgive you. :) If only we all had a cleaning service to handle the day-to-day stuff.

  17. When it comes to revision I can procrastinate with the best of them. Good luck with yours!

  18. I guess someone's got to clean the kitchen if we don't have a maid. In my house the kitchen is my job since my wife works outside the house and I don't. Seems like there's always something to do around the house that keeps me from writing.

Oh well, at least I don't have any snow to shovel here in L.A.
