Today is the day! #atozchallenge news!

It's Monday.

Let's write all the words today!

But, first!

Today was the big announcement for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.

Check the above link for all the amazing details, but I'll give a quick 'sum up' for those of you that are here.

This year, there will be no list.

Yep. We ditched it. It's crazy hard and time consuming to keep the list free of the riff-raff.

It was actually sucking the life out of us.

Here's our solution.

Each day you will post your 'Letter of the Day' on your own blog (like you always have) and then you also post a link to your 'Letter of the Day' in the comments of the matching 'Letter of the Day' post on the Main Challenge Blog.

You can also post that same link on the matching 'Letter of the Day' post on the Facebook page.

Then just share it as you usually would on other social media sites.

This way, you know, when you see a daily link from someone, they're actually, actively participating in the Challenge.

Sounds great, right?

Trial run will be the Challenge Theme Reveal on March 20, 2017. Even if you don't have a theme, you can steer people toward your blog to find out what you will be doing.

Don't forget to use the hashtags in your post titles!!!

#atozchallenge #atozreveal

Even if you don't do The Twitter, they still work on The Facebook.

  1. Much better now that there is no list! Because yes, it did suck the life out of me to maintain it...

  2. That's different! Hopefully it'll make it easier on you guys.

  3. We ended up too focused on who wasn't participating at the expense of those who were. Not having the list changes the focus.

  4. Glad you are figuring out ways to make it easier for you all. It seems like a big undertaking

  5. Well that seems like a solution to what has been a growing issue over the last couple of years. Of course you know what folk are like and I'm sure some will end up doing something weird that no one has thought of yet.

I hope to be back blogging again in time for the A to Z I have been otherwise occupied with arty stuff and modifying our house for a long time now.

  6. I'm looking forward to seeing how this will work out. That list was pretty intimidating!

  7. Hi,

Just hopped over from the A-Z blog. I am going to try creating a separate blogroll for the A-Z - my solution to going listfree. That way I won't have to look for the specific blogger daily, can track who to visit from my own blog everyday. And the random visits can be done from the main A-Z blog.

I'll see how this works out, I think it will turn out easier than expected. A little less cautious, and a little more optimistic now! :)

Thanks for all the support and the work you all do/are doing. I can completely understand Alex's comment above.

  8. Sounds great-even if it means Stormy's sidekicks face layoffs! ;)

  9. That makes is so much easier for the people running it and the participants not to waste time on blogs that drop out. Great idea.

  10. At first it was a little intimidating hearing there would be no list. It's been a few years since I participated, but I remember how much I used the list. I figure can use the links in the comments each day to visit 5-10 new blogs and the Theme Reveal to find the blogs that interest me.

Please leave a message after the beep.
