Best Halloween Candy?

Anyone remember these days besides me?
Sad but true.

I can remember clear as day my father insisting he get to look through all my candy before I could have any.

He said he was checking for dangerous items but really he was just stealing the good stuff and leaving me with the Zagnuts and tiny boxes of raisins.

Is this better?

I like this better too. Chocolatey goodness.

The problem I'm having is when the nice people at the door offer a basket with too many choices my son always seems to grab for lollipops.

Must be a man thing. Wanting everything on a stick.

Really. I'll eat peeps in any color or shape.

I have a love/hate relationship with candy corn. They are gross but I will eat them constantly if there is a bowl full anywhere near me.

Do you have a favorite? Maybe something you don't share with the ghouls and goblins at your door?

  1. What's this about liking things on sticks? Probably better if I don't even touch that subject.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. The best of both worlds.

  3. Wonka's always a good choice. I used to love Laffy Taffy & Bottle Caps. For chocolate it's Special Dark miniatures, Three Musketeers, or Reese's. This year I'm splurging & giving out Milky Way Midnight or Reese's Dark PB cups and a free frosty coupon.

The trick is to get just the right amount so there won't be any left to tempt me.

  4. We have an issue this year. We normally don't get a lot/any trick-or-treaters because where sort of secluded, but we always keep emergency candy around just in case. More for us later, right?

Well, my wife's been diagnosed borderline diabetic so we can't have candy anymore. Not sure what to do about the potential house-eggings we might have coming. :)

  5. Alex - Good point. About the PB cups too!

Tara - Whoppers are soooo good!

Marcfdvd - None left? What fun is that? You're probably right though.

Dan - My son got some other fun stuff too. Stickers and those mushy eyeballs. Silly putty. Scary bug rings. There is always something to replace candy.

    Thanks for stopping in!

  6. I buy peanut butter cups and kit kats to hand out to my trick-or-treaters because that's what I like so whatever's left over I can eat.

I save the candy corn for myself.

Not much Halloween celebration in New Zealand. I do miss candy corn. It was always my favorite. :)

  10. Rhonda - I guess you could always trick or treat at your own house! It could be fun.
I'll think of you while I freeze my butt off with my son on Monday!
