Sing it with me...If I only had a brain...

Scarecrow
I could while away the hours, conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain.
And my head I'd be scratchin' while my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
I'd unravel every riddle for any individ'le,
In trouble or in pain.
Dorothy
With the thoughts you'll be thinkin' you could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain.
Scarecrow
Oh, I could tell you why
The ocean's near the shore.
I could think of things I never thunk before.
And then I'd sit, and think some more.
I would not be just a nothin' my head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain.
I would dance and be merry, life would be a ding-a-derry,
If I only had a brain.

What exactly is a ding-a-derry anyway?
Oh well.

That is how I'm feeling lately...my head all full of stuffin'.

But, I did write just under a thousand words this weekend. That's a good sign.

I should be writing now, and I intend to get back to it, but I feel really bad about not blogging on schedule for the past 2 weeks and I just wanted to say hello to you guys.

I hope you are all doing well.

I know there is a lot going on out there. I'll try to post some more info on Wednesday but until then ... check here and here and here for a few blogfests!

So...how are you? What'cha been up to?

  2. Love Scarecrow's song. My son used to go around the house singing it often.

That's a good word count so far.

  4. I now have a sudden urge to dust off my ruby red slippers. ;-)

1000 words?! On a weekend?? With so much football to watch? That's not too shabby. Wish I could say the same.

P.S. Thank you so much for your support on Goodreads today. I really appreciate it!!

  5. Well that song is stuck in my head now. Even reading the rest of your post, it went to the tune of the song. If I only had a brain, I could shut it off :)
    (Loved the post)

  6. Tara - I think you are very courageous! Look what you've accomplished so far!

Donna - It is cute and I find it disturbing how often its in my head and I don't realize it.

Alex - Hey Alex! Thank you sir!

Liz - You have ruby red slippers? Awesome! Well, the Florida State game wasn't televised and then on Sunday both the Giants and Jets looked terrible so I had some time! You are welcome. I'm excited to see what you came up with next!

Rhonda - Thank you. I'll be singing it all week until another annoying song comes and shoves that one out!

    Thanks for coming by!

  9. That feeling comes and goes. I haven't thought about that song in years . It brings back memories of a safe childhood when I didn't have a worry. I was so creative then, without having to use my brain to pay bills, work or anything else- to just invent stories and build castles .

A thousand words means you are 1000 words closer to the end. Thanks for the blogfest info. They have been a life line for this newbie
