Fat Bottom Tree

I really think our tree this year looks like a giant Hershey Kiss.

Although it was suggested we decorate the tree in a silvery fashion this year I did choose to go traditional.

There is only about half the ornaments that we usually have, thank you Hurricane Irene, but I tried to space them out nicely.

We already have a few new replacements but I don't have a tree topper yet.

We used to have a country-ish looking angel. I will just have to wait to find just the right topper to replace her.

While visiting another blog today, Older Mommy Still Yummy, I learned about the Nativity Tray. It's such a nice touch to all the other Christmas traditions.

I'm not a religious person but its basically remembering young children and fuzzy creatures during this giving season.

I left Monica, the author of this blog, a note and she wrote back letting me know that she has started a LINKY for bloggers to show off their decorated trees to each other.

No rules. It's just for fun.

Anyone else not even started their shopping yet or is that just me?

  1. I love your fat-bottomed tree! We can't all be tall and svelte!

  2. Your tree is magnificent, I love how all the beautiful lights show in the night photo. It looks so beautiful and proud sitting in the window for all to see.
Thanks for mentioning the linky and the Nativity Tray, that is so sweet of you!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas,

  3. P.S. - I have started my shopping but I still have quite a bit left to do :(

  4. That really would have been funny if you'd covered it in silver tinsel. :)

  5. I'm surprised your hubby didn't take his chain saw to it and try to trim it down a bit. I like it though - very cute. And I totally agree with 'Pondside'!!!

BTW - we did decorate the house, just no tree this year. I was afraid to leave the cats with that temptation for a week. We would have come home to Hurricane Ninja/Pirate destruction inside the house!

    Merry Christmas!!
    Love ya,

  6. i LOVE your big fat tree!

we got a "real looking" fake tree last year and it is pitiful! too embarassing, like charlie brown's. no lie! (not even enuf room for all our ornaments!)

gonna replace it and find a less prominent spot for it next year

that tray is made for you, you love the fuzxy critters =)

  7. Sorry, finished shopping weeks ago. And that IS a wide tree. You need to find Hershey Kisses ornaments!

  8. I absolutely love your tree. I think it's the prettiest I've seen in awhile. the round effect makes me think of Santa's belly :)

  9. Thanks for all the tree love! I appreciate it!

  10. I like your tree - and hershey's chocolate kisses :)
