Danger ahead...mumbling and/or grumbling has commenced.

Note: This is my personal rant on my personal blog. My language is colorful and full of sarcasm :End Note.

This publishing thing is hard.

This is not new news.

It's just some days it hits harder than others.

Like when you have a book tour with no discernible positive outcome.

OR when you offer some free books in exchange for a little help and no one takes you up on it.

OR when you see books that are selling like hot cakes, but they clearly have bought & paid for reviews.

It's frustrating.

I'm aware that perseverance is the name of the game.

I am.

It's just not one of my strongest points, you know?

Of course you know.

So, that's about it.

I just needed a little vent.

Thanks for listening.

I'll leave you with this from...

  1. Thanks for sharing that, Heather!
It is frustrating. Especially when people do unethical things to get ahead.

  2. I've had just those moments. It's so difficult to know what will work and do tons of stuff with little results. Keep at it. Sometimes it takes many books. My 8th book was the one that finally took off and I did almost no promotion for that.

  3. I'm there now. Nerves to the moon, knowing all this work into a book release will be for nothing. It's out of my hands now. All I can do is promote, and that's a tiresome task.

    BTW, love that psychopath meme...

    1. It really is out of our hands, which being the control freaks that we all are, is very difficult.

Best of luck on your release!

  5. I've had plenty of frustrating moments. Like someone entering a contest I had and winning, then I emailed to ask what book and they told me and then never download the book. It's like why did you enter???? You knew the prizes.

    1. THIS! All day long this!
      I don't get it either.
If you don't want to read the book, don't enter!

  6. Some times you just gotta vent to understanding people. =) But I do hope things get better for you, and that tomorrow is a bit brighter!
