It's something I've always wanted to do and yet I'm unable to use both hands to play an instrument, which is just weird because I'm able to type.
One of the songs he's learning is Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones. If I can't play, I figure I'll just sing the songs with him while he plays.
There are quite a few covers of this song, which are all very good. These are my three favorite.

That's awesome your brother is learning the guitar. My hubby plays and I used to play bass, but I fell out of it and ended up selling my bass.
