#IWSG - Sharing a #BestThing!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

JULY 6 QUESTION: What's the best thing someone has ever said about your writing?

Alex J. Cavanaugh's awesome co-hosts for the July 6 posting of the IWSG will be Yolanda Renee, Tyrean Martinson, Madeline Mora-Summonte , LK Hill, Rachna Chhabria, and JA Scott!

Hello fellow Insecure Writers!

I'm joining in the fun with July's IWSG theme and talking about the best thing someone has ever said about my writing.

And I quote: "...Read this for the second time this week and I have to say- this author writes the best first kisses ever. And if I thought it might have been a lucky first shot? Nope… because she does it again in the second book! The books are just the right balance of hot and romantic..."

Best first kisses ever? That is awesome! That makes me so happy because I spent forever writing them!

Those first kisses are so important. I really believe they set the tone for the whole romance!

So, to get that kind of compliment from a reader? Freakin' awesome!

I will say, I've been fortunate to receive many nice compliments about my writing in the last few years, so I thank the Universe and the very nice readers for that.

How about you?

What 'best thing' did you hear/read about your work that stayed with you?

  2. Oh, that's such a cool compliment! I must read your kisses. I sorely lack in that area, and have been told to keep it generic. LOL
I can get my characters to kill but the expression of love, that's another thing. LOL I need lessons!

  5. I agree, sometimes the best compliments seem to pop from the Universe. Some compliments are so special they fall in the first kiss category.

  6. First kisses are so important to us and it's wonderful when a writer can bring back that memory.

  7. Oh, this is awesome! And I'm impressed because I think romance of any kind is so hard to write. I don't know what it says about me, but I find death and murder much easier LOL.
    Congratulations on this great compliment!

  8. Hi Heather:
That is an awesome thing to say. The best thing someone has said about my book is: "This is the best book of the decade." Made my heart flutter.

  9. Hi,
Best first kisses. Great! I am still working on my manuscript and there's a first kiss in it too. Hope it comes off as original too.
Your compliment is also something that you can look at and always be re-energized to do your best.

    Shalom aleichem,
    Patricia
