End of a long, but amazing, week.

One would think that a person who goes without sleep for most of the week would fall flat on their face by the end of it.

You would think.

Then why am I still up?

Good question.

After working three straight days giving my manuscript a final look, and writing a synopsis from scratch, I haven't had the opportunity for much sleep.

Now, it's Thursday night at 10:45 and I'm so wired that sleep eludes me.

But, today, I sent in my full manuscript, my synopsis and answers to some interview questions for the Harlequin/Mills & Boon 2012 So You Think You Can Write contest.

Of course, I won't hear about any results until around Election Day but that's only like 18 days-ish.

Piece of cake!

I'll tell you this, getting that email was the coolest moment ever.

I did squee, just a little.

I had to read it a few times over to makes sure it was real and not some SPAM email that I had visually transformed into the 'Congratulations' email.

Then I had to call everyone I loved to tell them the good news. You know how hard it is to be excited and share it with people when you only get their voice mails? Its torture!

I'm so glad I have this blog to share my news, good or bad, with a great group of friends.

Thanks again for your support and all your best wishes.

And, if I may quote one of my favorite writers, Tom Petty, the waiting is the hardest part.

I've got a blood drive coming up next week if anyone wants to come! We are trading pints for candy! It's a good deal!

And...its almost Halloween! Have you picked out your costume yet?

  3. Good job ninjas - LOL!! I love that line!

I am so proud of you! I can't wait for Election Day....not because I get to vote, but to hear your results. And don't be hating the voice mail - I was at work!

This weekend you can watch football guilt-free knowing there isn't anything more you have to do for your story. Relax! Then, on Monday, start on Book 2!! LOL!! Just kidding!!!!! (kinda - i really am excited to read the second book in your trilogy.)

Good luck Mites, Knights, 'Noles, and Gi'nts!

    Talk with you soon.
    Love ya,

And I love that moment when you cross over into being too wired to sleep, even though you've been awake for a week.

  5. Waiting to see which character you pick to be the center of the next book- Kate, Steve, Bob or Emily. Or Avery who could come back from the dead as a zombie.
