4-1-2017 #AtoZChallenge - A is for Animal Adventure Park and April the Giraffe!

This is my 7th year participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. You'd think I'd be more prepared. But, here I am on April 1st and I've got absolutely nothing to write about. Literally, nothing.

So, I'm just going to wing it and go with random stuff from my brain.

Everything, Nothing & Stuff In-between- Random stuff from my brain

A is for Animal Adventure Park and April the Giraffe.

Have you guys met April? She's a giraffe living at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, just outside of Binghamton, New York.

April

She's gained notoriety because she's VERY pregnant. The news of the imminent delivery of her baby giraffe were premature and now we've been watching and waiting for a few weeks!

April and Oliver

She has her own live video feed on the Youtube and her own website!

The latest report is that she might have her baby on April Fool's Day, so you may want to check the video link!

Come back tomorrow to see if I've come up with anything for the letter B!

  3. Just what a woman wants - live feed of the event online for all to see.
You throw out fun stuff like this and I think you'll be fine.

  4. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have watched zero minutes of April-I have been entertained by other people's musings, and it is not that I am not interested-maybe more that I am afraid I will never leave the couch! Does Stormy know you are here without him?;)

  8. I've seen the live feed pop up on my FB every now and then, but I was too tired to look into why people were caring so much. Baby animals. I should have guessed.

  9. Stopping by to visit the pages of the A-Z moderators. I am halfway through the comment links and visiting others links. We were just talking about April at work the other day. She and the video are constant Facebook reminders. Enjoyed reading your post today!

  10. Did you see the satirical story about April telling Oliver she was pregnant just to keep her man? So funny!

  11. I think I heard they're expecting it'll be born any day now, but they've been saying that for weeks. Maybe it's twins....

  12. What a cutie. Giraffes are just such unlikely looking animals you can't help but love them. Looking forward to your random posts Heather - happy A-to-Z-ing.

  13. Giraffes are amazing animals--one of my wife's favorites. I've been to zoos, but never one of those animal parks that I can recall. Checked out the "live feed" but it is down. I got a big kick out of reading some of the comments like: I know it is rediculous, but I have been in front of this screen for 72 hours straight with no sleep, loaded with coffee and NOW that it IS happening,,,,,NO FEEDS,,,

Kind of gives new meaning to your blog title.

I think we're off to a good start. More stuff that I can keep up with. As usual.

  17. I thought I was a pantser, but you just outdid me! I blogged about April, too, because she lives about 1/2 hour from me. But I've become obsessed, and my husband is getting good eye exercise rolling his eyes every time I start laughing, or insisting we should stay home and watch. I hope tomorrow is "B for Baby" for April's sake! She looks like she is ready to pop! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  23. What a gorgeous animal. I'm off to check her live video feed and to share it with my daughters - grown up but still in love with animals.
Good luck - I sometimes think spontaneity is best - but only if you have enough time to be creative.

  27. My mom is OBSESSED with watching this giraffe. What I don't get is all the backlash about filming her. People don't have any privacy anymore; I'm sure zoo animals don't expect any either.
