Ready or not!

Wow. I am only a few friends away from 100 followers and I am completely unprepared.

I didn't plan a contest for the milestone.

I don't have a blogfest waiting in the wings.

I didn't write a heartfelt speech.

Well, at least let me say this...THANK YOU!

I am so pleased and humbled to have you all as followers.

I will strive to continue to write witty and inspiring blog posts....

Yeah, right.

If you know me, you know that I am far from witty.

Sarcastic! That is what I am. No, really! I've got the t-shirt and everything!

But, (there's that word again), I am appreciative of those of you who are coming by and reading my crap. It's even better when you comment!

Name update: I think I have finally come up with a name for my female main character in Caine's story.

I spent entirely too much time going through hundreds of names on the internet. I was even on a website with a random name generator.

I had a bunch of choices picked out and I noticed that most of them had a common theme. They ended in 'ie'.

They just seemed too girl-'ie' for this story.

I chose Reese.

I plugged it into the story and did a quick read through to see if I liked it and her name seems to be working.

I know some of you might be thinking of the actress Reese, but of course all I can think of is Kyle Reese from Terminator. I'm sure that will fade...maybe.

I am still working on the incredibly long list of entries on the Bernard Pivot Blogfest. It's a great way to get to know people and see their blogs and I hope to get through most of them soon.

  1. Congrats on the milestone! I love visiting your blog. :-)

  2. Congratulations on closing in on 100 followers! Very very cool.

  3. I'll make two new profiles and get them to follow you! j/k. I like the name Reese. :-)

    Love you!

  4. I like Reese...

    Girly, but not too much.

  5. Liz - Thank you and I love that you visit! Great news about your audio book too!

Jennifer - Thank you and thanks for coming. Your blog news gets more exciting every post!

Katie - You rock! Love you too!

Misha - Reese sounds tough but sweet. Well, to me anyway.
    Thanks for coming by.

  6. Congrats, Heather,

    I always enjoy stopping by.

Reese is a great name. It doesn't matter if it brings up someone else, as long as it fits the character.

For some reason my mc's name is popping up everywhere in novels. I picked it because it suited the character. So you just never know. GO with your gut.

  7. Reese is a great name. I enjoy coming here and reading your blog. Keep up the good work.

  8. Michael - Thank you. I'm glad you come to see me! You're right. I had to just suck it up and pick a name and stop worrying about where I heard it before. Words don't get onto the paper that way!

Donna - Thank you and thanks for coming by. I appreciate it.

  9. How many of the participants of A to Z have you clicked to follow? I'll guarentee you'll reach your 100 followers faster if you start clcking to follow and leaving comments that you've done so. The reciprocation usually works especially if you add "I hope you'll follow me as well" or something like that. Heck, you'd probably hit 200 if you do that.

Tossing It Out and the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge 2011

  10. Lee - I have only scratched the surface of the A to Z participants. I am still working on the Pivot blogfest list.
I was just so pleased to be gaining some new friends and I wanted to make sure I acknowledged everyone.
Thanks for the advice and the opportunity. March and April are sure to be busy!

  11. Hi there. I'm happy to help you on your way to 100 by being number 98. Thanks for dropping by my blog. It's good to meet you.

Congrats for when you do reach 100 (that'll be soon...)

  12. Tony - Thank you, sir! I appreciate that very much. Nice to meet you as well.
