Dreaded Red Pen

It's been so long!
I haven't been here since last Wednesday.
I completely missed Friday!
What the hell happened?

Oh, yeah, right. Now I remember.
I've been in...

THE EDIT ZONE

I've been working on my edits
All the live long day
I've been working on my edits
And I'm really tired today

I'm gonna finish editing this first draft if it kills me.

It just might kill me.

But, it's okay. It's good. I've received some written (covered in evil red pen) and verbal edits from one of my peeps and I've been working diligently on them.

I'm pleased with the changes I'm making.

I just really, really, really want to make this one work.

If I can't make this one work...I don't know what to do.

I'm hoping to catch up on some of your blogs today. I miss you guys!

Everyone have a nice weekend?

  1. That's all right - I skipped last Wednesday to work on my next book. Don't fear the edits! It will work.

  2. I'm taking a couple days off to do some overdue edits. Our weekend was fine. We saw Brave and had some family fun together. Good luck with your MS!

  3. It's funny, I love editing when I'm not editing and love drafting when I'm not drafting. I keep going, 'Man, I wish I was editing instead of drafting right now.' and vise versa, lol.

Good luck with all the polishing!

  4. I just emerged from that dank hole and I'm hoping to stay out for a while so I can try on a new story. Hope you find your groove and make your book the gem it's meant to be :)

  5. Ah, editing hell, isn't it just special. Evil red is right. Glad you're seeing the end of it all.

Weekend was very hot and we stayed inside mostly. Hubs caught up with a lot of his prerecorded shows. I did weeding and watering of the garden while it was relatively cool. Then I wrote and puttered. It was nice.

    1. And to answer your question: Nothing exciting here. :)

  7. I spent a year revising my ms. A YEAR! Everyday. It's madness, but it's also where your book comes alive. Where all that layering adds depth & dimension. You'll get it done. There's no rush. With something as important as your ms, you have to be patient. And no worries about posting multiple times in a week I do it once & that's enough. The book is number one. Good luck, though I know you don't need it. You'll do great!

J.A. - Why, thank you! I hope so too! I appreciate you stopping in!

Sia - Evil red. I think that might be a nail polish too! Thank you. Sounds like a nice weekend when it wasn't hot. Welcome!

Dana - Thank you and nothing exciting sounds pretty good too!

Nancy - Oh, there's a rush. I want this done before summer is over. I have to have a goal date at this point or I won't ever finish. But, I'm still doing my best to do a good job. Thank you! I hope it will be great.

    Thanks everyone!

  10. I'm editing at the moment, too. Ain't it grand? Hah :) there's something kind of exciting about editing, though. Getting every thing in place, knowing it works & 'flows' (ugh for lack of a better word). You can do it & no rush. It'll be fantastic!
