Thanks but no thanks...

I got the letter from HQN.

Thank you, but no thank you.

So be it.

  1. Sorry about that, I hope you dont let this get you down.
I would give it one more look, make any needed revisions and send it to other publishers, it might be exactly what they are looking for.

  2. Sorry. But keep at it. You will find someone who will be willing to give you a chance. I just know it.

I take off my hat to you though. Pursuing your dream takes guts and courage and you definitely don't have any of that in short supply. So chin up.

  3. Also extra kudos for making it to this point. I've never even submitted a manuscript.

Keep at it. You'll find your niche, either in HQN or elsewhere, but you know you can make it to the point where your polished-up MS is ready for sending off to a publisher. I wish I could say the same for any bit that I've ever written.

  4. Thank you, to all of you. I appreciate it.

It didn't bother me yesterday. I got the letter and was slightly pleased to have written proof.

Then I slept on it and woke up depressed.

I'm thankful that they took the time to get back to me. There is no doubt about that.

I will send it on to others. I don't know if that is courageous or not. Some might say it's the very definition of stupidity. Doing the same thing over and over again hoping to achieve a different result.

    I like my story.
I feel like I just want to share it.
    We'll see.
    Chin is up.
    I'm keeping at it.
And, trying not to let it get me down.
